Get involved

Early phase research relies on healthy volunteers who want to help with the development of new treatments. This BMJ blog post describes one volunteer's experience.

If you'd like to become a volunteer, you can find out more on the pages about Current studies, and Volunteering FAQs, and let us know about you on the Register your interest page.

If you're not close enough to York to take part in trials here, there are numerous other trials units around the country. Here's one in London, where one of our projects is being co-hosted. They're looking for volunteers in the London area.

We need male volunteers too

In a six month period, 84% of our registrants were women. This might make it difficult to recruit enough volunteers for some studies, so if you'd like to hear from us when there are opportunities for male participants, we'd be especially grateful to you for registering.

But that's not all

We also value the opinions, questions or comments of the public - people like you.

If you have any questions or comments, e-mail us at EMU@york.nhs.uk.
